Not a very good start for Miller.

Miller does not throw nearly as hard as was advertised.

so about how many no-outs, bases loaded situations have the red sox hit into a double play this season?  I think it's been about 20.  A total waste.

Wonder if Lee would be kind enough to hit a ground ball to short for us here....

His fastball is surprisingly flat and hittable.

Okay, minimal damage.  And he did start using the change there.  Don't know why he kept grooving FB after FB.

evening all.....i'm with everyone on reddick. pre game said he has to prove he can hit lefties....has he not??  it's a small sample, but unless you play him, you never  know. i wondered the same thing joel mentioned, this may Dmac's last shot to show something. happ and miller both had a shaky first

Let's hope that Happ does not settle down now. Three runs is not likely to be enough, tonight.

yesterday's 7th rally was started by the bottom of the order--Drew,  Saltalamacchia, Reddick, Sutton, and McDonald all reached base before Pedroia and Gonzalez got the big hits of the inning, a 2-run single and 2-run double.  Ortiz at first base tonight with Gonzalez shifting to right field against Houston LHP J.A. Happ.  Happ was one of the major pieces of the trade last July that sent Roy Oswalt to the Phillies.  Before tonight, the Red Sox had only 19 at-bats against Happ, with only 2 hits--one a home run off the bat of Josh Beckett in 2009. It's looking good.

Pedey has been going the other way a lot lately.  I noticed Drew going the other way last night, which of course is very unusual and a good sign.

We were told Miller could throw as hard as 99 mph. We haven't seen it;only low 90s. Why?
