    Lewis has been a bit lucky this year (.262 BABIP, 4.69 FIP), giving up 31 HRs this year, second worst in the majors. Bedard hasn't got any wins yet for Boston. Here’s hoping for seven innings today from Bedard (has not done that yet for sox).  Please, give the pen a rest.

    And 30 years ago, today, the Red Sox lost to the Seattle Mariners 8-7. The 20-inning game was the longest game ever played at Fenway Park.

    we are starting Jed again at ss beause Marco needs another day of rest...I know Francona is laid-back but he did see that disaster on the field yesterday, right????? It is September and we are in a dead heat against the Yanks playing a team we might see in the playoffs....urgency anyone????

    We need to score lots of runs today. We are 29-11 (.725) in day games, good for second best in the majors--behind you know who.

    I'd like to forget about last night's disaster, but having the Y come back to go 1/2 up was much worse

    colon got knocked around, other than the first inning. he hasnt pitched this many innings since 2005 so.......cervelli managed to keep from clapping after he hit a homerun. exam you want some links to see if you watch the game on line?

    I'm wondering why Youkilis was batting cleanup last night when he was probably still rusty, and PD had done so well there.

    i watched the pre game show and Francona said he was happy to have him baCK AND batting cleanup...maybe it was just a vote of confidence thing...i agreed with you - it would have been better to ease him in at 6th and move up CC t0 2nd...our manager is a serious creature of habit
