He wanted to know why the sox thought that cervelli's (sp?) clap was bad but had no problem with Papi's bat flip.....And why the Yankees didnt mind the clap but didnt like the flip. He spent like 10 mins trying to figure this out

There is an old saying about how you see things: " It all depends on whose Ox is being gored." -

Oh that's easy to answer. 1. That was Papi's 300th and something HR, not his third. 2. Papi had just been hit in a previous AB, and then buzzed inside twice in that AB. 3. Papi didn't toss that bat in NYY catcher's face the way Cervelli did Salty with the clap. 4. Papi is a loveable fuzzball, and Cervellis is a punk. (ok, #4 is a bit subjective) -

well, let me help him out. papi's reaction was just that, cervelli had the entire HR trot to think about acting like he'd been there before..oh wait, he hadn't been. to clap your hands, in the face of the catcher at home plate, shows no to low class -

Could almost see that coming, as the first three hitters got good swings and hit the ball hard. Hughes velocity down a bit from earlier. -

That's the thing about Cervelli. If he was a proven MLB veteran it wouldn't bother me as much. Remember Albert Belle used to do stuff like that, and it didn't bother me as much because he had a track record of getting it done. Although, I'll say that I don't think even Belle would have done something as juvenile as that. That was something that's done by somebody who's juiced over the fact that he finally hit a ball over the fence, and sees it in his own mind as much bigger than it really is. That's where character shows up, a lack of humility I'd say. -
