ya makes no sense take out doubront, lefty leading off, 94 pitches, could have even just left him in to face kelly johnson who is a leftie and then put bailey in. rookie mistake by farrell, its not rocket science. just common sense

Morons. This game should be over. Now instead of a neat, clean game that saved the pen, we're liable to play 18 innings and maybe not even win. Id suggest scoring a run and being done with it. But you know how our games usually go against Tampa.

Well, well, well. Johnny Gomes saves the day and saves Bailey a butt whuppin'. Im not as ticked as I was ten minutes ago, but Im still ticked. Exciting, but should not have come to that. We've got a problem with Bailey, just a matter of time before he ghacks up a big one, and Gomes wont be there to come to his rescue. Night all.....

Bailey takes the win. He owes Felix and Gomes a beer.

Time to shift Uehara into the closer role and let Bailey work things out as a middle reliever until he can successfully collect 3 outs without giving up constant walks and bombs.

As long as the right team gets it. Damn Orioles got to Verlander so it's even more important with the Tigers comin up.

All's well that ends well.  No question Doubront should have been left in. He had retired 17 in a row and was showing no sign of tiring. It would be one thing if you had a lights out closer , but Bailey has been far from that. It was a blunder by Farrell. I will give Bailey credit for not falling completely apart and giving up more runs , but the closer position is shaky at this point. No doubt about that.  The big thing is , this team continues to show a lot of heart. Gomes made his bones tonight.  Now , let's hope that tonight gives Doubront the confidence to turn the corner in his young career.  We are getting near the halfway point of the season , and this team is still on top.

Yeah, and I'll bet you a dollar he completely shuts us down on Sunday. Verlander is one of those guys that always loses when you want him to win and vice versa. Thats why he hardly ever beats NY. Ever notice that?

The game today confirms more and more that Aceves belongs in the rotation and Doubront belongs somewhere else. Doubront would have gotten to 75 pitches around the 3rd inning.

well chum, seeing how doubront had his best start of his career with our sox the 2nd game I guess you got a little egg on your kissah eh?Wink
