I like Holt at leadoff ( for now at least). Glad to hear Napoli is in the lineup ..hopefully with no ill effects from the shot he took in the knee.

We need to find out if Holt is the real deal. Might as well give him a chance.

Hes been swinging a hot bat in AAA and so far in Boston. Sounds like a good idea to me. At least for now. Good AB's, making solid contact and hes got some speed.

    donrd4,

The stupid, stupid, stupid front office just engineered the Sox 3d WS win in ten years.  Surely they are doing something right.  Did you want them to shell out $152M or more to keep Ellsbury?

Besides, it's early.  I could be wrong, but think Sizemore is the best candidate for leadoff, which keeps Pedroia in the 2 slot, Ortiz 3d, and Napoli 4th.  The cold is clearly affecting the players and some, no doubt, more than others.

I agree that Sizemore s/b leading off. Leading off by committee is bad managing. Keep Sizemore at lead-off until he proves he's not capable of getting on base. At least a month. As a field manager, Farrell continues to be unimpressive.

Kind of a tough loss just given the day and how it all started, and of course the "concerned about Bucholz" crowd has more fodder...

But like you I loved how the team battled back.

Bogaerts with a mental base running mistake and the potential DP throw, which ended up scoring, which is expected from a rookie player. Shake it off, get Vic and WMB back this week and we're in good shape. Bullpen was great, once again.

[object HTMLDivElement]    Right. Even with the best young players, you have to remember that they are still raw. Still have a lot to learn. As long as they do learn and don't keep repeating the same mistakes.

Just for s--ts and grins, how long do you think it'll be before both are back on the DL? Bring out the bubble wrap.
