Holt must have gone to the Jonny Gomes Left Field School. Chapter 1, just make the damn catch.

Now Bradley Jr. needs to go to the Tony Perez school of "see de bol, hit de bol".

Nava can hit from the left side. That is the truth.

No chance, absolutely none. JBJ has gotta go when IVC comes back. If it wasn't for the fact that Sizemore is probably in line for it first, he probably would.

To the " smart " posters, Holt is and will always be, a marginal utility player.  No matter how much he shows that he is more than that. Hard to get recognition once you are type cast. That 's life.

    Stabbed by Foulke.

It works the same way in reverse. A player who comes up and is immediately great for a couple years; when he starts stinking up the place, it takes a while to admit he's bad.

In today's game, you need a strong lineup, top to bottom. It is hard to succeed with an unproductive bottom of the order.  That is a big problem for us at the moment.

    Stabbed by Foulke.

What I've seen so far this game is in a nutshell our season.  Third inning--bases loaded, one out, Pedroia and Ortiz up--one run.  Fourth inning--first and third, one out-- one run.  Given our hitting, we don't have  that many opportunities.

Plus you believe the season's over so why get upset; however, the AL East is so bad, that the SOX still have a chance. It used to be the NL least, now it's the AL least.

Well, Sanchez is not going deep in this game. Detroit's weakness  would seem to be their bullpen .  Bottom line : We have a shot at this one.

Going back to Wednesday, Bradley has struck out in seven of his last 10 plate appearances. Also two hits and a walk.

I agree.  This team used to capitalize on these scoring situations last year.  I do think Sox are at least generating scoring opportunities more consistently of late, used to be near no-hitters during the 10-game losing streak.  May be getting Napoli and Vic back, and Nava starting to string some hits, perhaps the team is turning from the awful streak.  If they can whittle away to about 5-6 games behind by AS break, they could make a run after the break.

Last year if a pitcher was at 95 pitches in the fifth, we'd have 4-5 runs at least.

I just switched to the basketball game for a minute and Brock Holt was playing power forward for the Spurs.
