Bring Pedey home, and Koji's will take care if the save.  Have to keep the streak going.

Not liking the Papi move.  They figued to walk him and set up Kimbel v Ross.  There is probably no worse matchup.

ugh another example of poor management from farrell. Why wait and pinch hit ortiz once there is already 2 outs? pinch hit him for gomes when there is no out and a runner on 3rd. Huge waisted opportunity for sox to get the potential winning run across and they blow it. Back to back k’s from gomes and sizemore. And lets no even get started on the decision to leave peavy in for the 8th after allowing a leadoff single. pathetic

I'm an idiot, I admit it. Based on the way Manager Farkel managed the bottom of the eighth, so is he.

Holt is going to make the RSN forget Ellsbury at the lead off spot.  Like the kid, kinda reminds me of Pedey with his size and hustle.

Toronto knew all this before letting Farkel come to Boston.

Holt is up there to bunt. Kimbrel walks him.  Unbelievable. This game is over. Walkoff city.

    Stabbed by Foulke.

I normally don't 2nd guess, but in the bottom of the 8th, letting Gomes come to bat brought me upright off the couch screaming, 'What are you doing?'

Farrell definitely blew it.  With no outs and runner in scoring position, he should have sent Papi up to hit for Gomes against right hander forcing Braves to go to the bullpen one batter sooner.  Gomes had no chance against righty throwing in high nineties, as evidence by one, two , three strikeout.  If Papi grounds out to RF into the shift, run still scores.  Or if they walk him, Sizemore is facing right-hander or Braves have to go to the bullpen.  Even if they pitch to Papi and he pops out, Nava can go to the outfield to replace Gomes and Papi stays in to play 1B.  If Papi can't stay in to play 1B, pinch hit for Ross with Carp who stays in to play 1B and Perzinski moves from DH to catcher.

Brave's defensive ineptitude gives Sox win in the ninth, all is forgiven, but I nonetheless standby my earlier observation.

I don't like the pitching match ups this weekend. With them more then likely going with Webster on Sat. Then them going up against Price  vrs workman tomorrow. But at least you can pencil in Ortiz in.

[object HTMLDivElement]   We may have turned the corner. Have to see how we do against the Rays. You know the Rays are going to play good baseball.  The Braves were really terrible the past four games. I was surprised how really bad they were.

Farrell managed Peavy well and was managing a couple games ahead.  Good possibility of needing the pen more than normal with 2 kids going the next 2 days so a day off for most of them is a good thing.

The matchups are what they are.  I think Farrell was managing ahead last Saturday when Ortiz sat.  3 games on that turf and they knew Ortiz was going to play the field both games in Atlanta.  Make sure he can play 4/5.  Can't always just manage in the moment at this time of year.
