    this relates to the bobby v in trouble (post above) for revealing middlebrooks going behind his back to management, but this post is about teh whole ball of wax from the end of titos reign.

    Gaspar is right on the money in everything he said. The thing that concerns me from this is the possibility of a rookie 3rd baseman running to managememnt cause his feeling were hurt.

    It's all about player and their entitlement. This was an interesting discussion about BVs situation. The last statement was the best. The players got the last manager fired and are about to get another one fire because they are under performing. Dead on statement.

    even worse the ownership runs it that way.

    I do/don't agree with what was said at the end of the segment.  I think this team WOULD have been better with Tito managing it.  I also think that in order for them to BE better certain players, those who undermined Tito, would have had to go.  And it matters not what their names are or how much money they make.

    The FO should have stood up for Tito and instead cut his legs from under him.  The problem with this team wasn't the manager it was the few malcontents who wanted to take advantage of Tito's style and run the show themselves. The FO got rid of the wrong people.

    As to whether this team would have been any better with Tito at the helm....
    They say the best predictor of future performance is past performance.  Tito has 2 WS rings in his pocket.  What other RS manager has?

    In July;

    Ellsbury.............69 AB (17 GP) .304/.351/.406/.757 (1 HR & 3 RBI)

    Crawford...........45 AB (13 GP).244/.306/.356/.662 (1 Hr & 4 RBI)

    Pedrioa.............58 AB (15 GP) .276/.295/483/.778 (4 HR & 8 RBI)

    Gonzalez...........94 AB (24 GP) .372/.385/.543/928 (4 HR & 19 RBI)

    Middlebrooks......68 AB (18 GP) .294/.314/.471/.785 (3 HR & 10 RBI)

    Saltalamaccia.....66 AB (20 GP) .182/.260/.424/.685 (5 HR & 8 RBI)

    Ross.................83 AB (25 GP) .217/.298/.410/.708 (4 HR & 11 RBI)

    Avilies...............72 AB (22 GP) .194/.234/.292/.525 (1 HR & 8 RBI)

    Note Worthy;
    Ciriaco...............69 AB (20 GP) .348/.357/.449/.806 (8 RBI)
    Ortiz.................38 AB (12 GP) .395/.547/.579/.1.126 (2 HR & 5 RBI)

    July
    Team Stats.......
    878 AB (26 GP) .257/.311/.402/.713 (27 HR / 99 RBI)
    Total runs scored.......106
    Average Runs Game...4.07

    Runs Allowed.............125
    Runs allowed Game....4.80

    Run Differential.......... -19

    Team Record...............12-14
    Team ERA...................4.53

    Beckett (6.08 ERA) & Lester (9.36 ERA) combined to go 1-5

    End of the day, this team has more issues than whether or not the players like or respect Bobby Valentine. If the above represents the nucleaus of our club we've fielded our best lineup in 65% of the games we played during the month of July (due to injuries). At no time this entire season have we fielded the club that we thought we had when we broke camp. Clearly that has to be Valentine's fault. Lastly perhaps it's due to some underlying clubhouse issues or the changes in pitching coaches (3 in 3 seasons). Fact of the matter is our ACE Jon Lester has been MIA since July of last year...Beckett too hasn't exactly stepped up either.

    Conspiracy theorist like to paint Valentine as part of the problem, Buster Olney, Shaunessey and all those that jumped on the Chicken and Beer controversy from last season all need to get a grip on the reality that is Our Boston Red Sox...

    As a collective from John Henry down to the guys that mop the floors of the clubhouse...Everyone of them need to look in the mirror and be accountable for thier part. If you want to chirp to the press, do us all a favor and print your resume and go find real work.....Like or not, the failures of this team lyes at the feet of the players who dispite what the backs of thier baseball cards suggest have for the better part of 2 seasons underperformed and in particular Jon Lester and Josh Beckett.

    Thats the problem the players are not accountable and can look themselves in the mirror. This team needs a shakeup from the top and that includes Lucky Larry Luchinno and Young Ben who cannot make a trade at all. His deals have not helped this team at all. Henry needs to shake this up. They hired Bobby V. and Cherrington did not want him. Who the hell is Cherrington ? After Theo went, he should have gone as well. Now they have another mess to clean up at the end of the season with no optimism toward next season at all. Its over and has been over a while and I will support this team but am not going to religiously watch them anymore. I am a former military guy who respects the chain if command even though I may not like the boss. The general is the boss and that is Bobby Valentine. n response to "Re: Gaspar on Recent Revelations (same thing ive said numerous times since offseason about the player/mgr/owner dynamic in Boson)": [QUOTE]In July; Ellsbury.............69 AB (17 GP) .304/.351/.406/.757 (1 HR & 3 RBI) Crawford...........45 AB (13 GP).244/.306/.356/.662 (1 Hr & 4 RBI) Pedrioa.............58 AB (15 GP) .276/.295/483/.778 (4 HR & 8 RBI) Gonzalez...........94 AB (24 GP) .372/.385/.543/928 (4 HR & 19 RBI) Middlebrooks......68 AB (18 GP) .294/.314/.471/.785 (3 HR & 10 RBI) Saltalamaccia.....66 AB (20 GP) .182/.260/.424/.685 (5 HR & 8 RBI) Ross.................83 AB (25 GP) .217/.298/.410/.708 (4 HR & 11 RBI) Avilies...............72 AB (22 GP) .194/.234/.292/.525 (1 HR & 8 RBI) Note Worthy; Ciriaco...............69 AB (20 GP) .348/.357/.449/.806 (8 RBI) Ortiz.................38 AB (12 GP) .395/.547/.579/.1.126 (2 HR & 5 RBI) July Team Stats....... 878 AB (26 GP) .257/.311/.402/.713 (27 HR / 99 RBI) Total runs scored....... 106 Average Runs Game... 4.07 Runs Allowed............. 125 Runs allowed Game.... 4.80 Run Differential .......... -19 Team Record ...............12-14 Team ERA ...................4.53 Beckett (6.08 ERA) & Lester (9.36 ERA)  combined to go 1-5 End of the day, this team has more issues than whether or not the players like or respect Bobby Valentine. BV is gone, lucky him.   Under-performing players that whine are not worth managing.

    This group of losers is the cause of all the problems. Valentine may be a jerk but it is not his fault. How can he be judged with a bunch of players who are gutless and don't listen.
