Gomes now batting .168, how is he still starting?

he has been terrible all year, not hitting righties or lefties, and is batting a whopping .168 on the season. Its time we get a real LF, gomes and nava are the not the answers, though nava has done well, we need some pop in this line up. Give brentz a shot, give bradley a another shot. its time to admit gomes is not a starter and quite honestly is barely a bench guy at this point. being a good clubhouse guy does not make up for him being a terrible baseball player.

While I'm with you on Gomes.....  You can't be serious on Nava!  He's one of the few guys CARRYING this team on offense.  He's also played very sound outfield despite his lack of speed.

    Right on Gomes!

    So VERY WRONG on Nava!!!!

What is it that folks just don't get about the numbers?  Do they not even watch the games?

3rd highest number of RBI's,  32, right behind Papi.

    .854 OPS

4th highest avg on the team.

Sound D, if you actually watch the games.  Granted, he's not a speed demon.

Without Nava, this team would be SUNK!

WAKE UP & think for yourselves Sox fans.  We don't really need a shiny silver ball to acknowledge excellent, HIGH VALUE production, despite the lack of a big name.....  DO WE?

Nava has earned a starting job until he proves otherwise, IMO. He doesnt need to be platooned. Gomes is a bench guy that is overpaid and not producing. Unfortunately his contract isnt very enticing to other teams and neither is his production for that price. Hey, ya win some and ya lose some. I like the guy and hope he can get it going soon.

JBJ will be up until Vic returns. Id also like to see Brentz get a shot,. Hes still got some work left before hes ready so Im guessing unless theres another big injury, we should see him in September.
