    GONZO AT.350 BA,.400 OBP +.600 SLUGGING AVE, IS IT POSSIBLE?

    looking at gonzo's stats, he's relatively close on these 3 averages. is it possible for him to maintain those averages for the rest of the season?

    no....not because he isn't a great player(silly to suggest otherwise) of the three his BA will probably drop the most...over the season just won't leg out enough hits to sustain the avg...like everyone else he'll eventually hit a patch, good enough a player where it won't linger, but will affect the numbers...still no doubt you'll be looking at a terrific season win or lose..

    1.000 OPS is a bit much, but he should be in the mid to high .900s.
     
    He is an amazing hitter and should get a lot of pitches to hit with Youks & Ortiz hitting after him.

    Anything is possible and I think we are just now beginning to see what a great player he is and what a great signing this was for the Sox - a real scale tipper.

    sure it is...Hes got the talent to do it. As Jete said, it will be hard. but it is possible..

    the sky is the limit. he passes the eyeball test... he could be the best hitter i have ever seen. he adjusts to pitchers, he sets pitchers up just like manny did, he'll take a strike to look at delivery just like youk does.
    if anyone can sustain this pace, he can. remember he is getting stronger after surgury...

    Gonzo has the ability to go with what the pitcher throws, especially with guys in scoring position.  A joy to watch that.  He is like Boggs and Rice rolled up into one.

    what he did to CC sabathia, looking like Ichiro pulling out of the box to get a HR on the high inside heat CC was beating him with. That just proves that Gonzo is a pure hitter and can adjust to the best pitchers MLB has. If anyone can do it, Gonzalez can..

    Gonzo has truly suprised me with how quickly he has adjusted to the AL and I am surely glad Crawford has turned it around after his horrid start its gonna get interesting boys but a lot of baseball is left.

    ok, could jeter do it? the best stat i've read on gonzo is what he is doing with 2 outs and runners in scoring position. he is hitting .520! can you imagine that? that alone should put him ahead for the AL MVP award at this time!
