The market always includes some buyers who will overpay . Your most stupid comment. Overpay is not possible if it is the market. When someone bids against themselves, that is not a market.  As for the rest of your crap, well, it's crap. Devildrivel, you and your big chip is a pile.
    Posted by hankwilliams
Yes, you are correct, overpay is not possible. Overpay is subjective, market price is objective. If one buyer wants something bad enough, that is what the market price is. How does one bid against oneself? Do you need to have a split personality?

Don't forget a barb about Varitek and Wastefield.  Always one thing about Ells or those two in tandem.

Trade Softlaw to the Dodger forum for someone who wants to trade Kemp.

Seriously? So, if they dont offer arbitration and Ortiz walks...im pretty sure the Sox get no picks so well would they or any other team do that?  Yeah Papi had a good year but saying no player had a year like he had is pretty dumb... I could name several that had much better years than he did.

Time we start scouting and hitting on young studs.  It's time to turn this roster over starting with not resigning Ortiz and Wakefield and trading Youk for a Shea Hillenbrand rookie card.
The most important factor is beyond dispute. They were not willing to pay an OF'er 20M for 7 years and a total of 142M , instead, opting to cut that obligation in half and trade for Wells. Napoli was traded because he was about to reach FA status and Angels had no plans to pay Napoli FA money to DH and catch and pay first.

No, if they were willing to pay $80M/4 for Wells, they'd have probably paid $142M/7 for CC.

Napoli wasn't reaching FA status.  He had two years to go.

And oddly enough, when the RS had a DH/Catcher/1B type, and they let him go, you were beside yourself.  If that's the case, why would the LAA want to trade a similar, but superior player, at less than half the price?  Napoli is better than VMart.  You thought the RS should pay $39M/3 for VMart.  So why wouldn't LAA pay $5M last year and whatever this year for the superior Napoli?

Don't try using logic with softy.

I mean the guy just said this...

My absolute best hotstove move was mousing over the "ignore hankwilliams" icon and clicking. Better than "plop, plop, fizz, fizz...." What a relief to not read his whiney, off-base remarks. I just wish no-one would respond to him.

As for Hershiser? I don't expect him to don a Red Sox uniform.
As for Ortiz? I'd be weird seeing him in any other uniform, wouldn't it?

Yeah... and probably a little annoying when he stands and watches a long shot clear the fence.
