Maddox and Glavine with 300 wins are both locks...

Piazza & Biggio are both worthy and should get in soon enough...

Thomas, Morris & Martinez are all worthy but won't get the's votes

Raines was a poor mans version of Ricky Henderson and will always be compared to him and not vs all of his contemporaries...thus will fall short and I doubt ever gets the votes...

The steroid boys won't make it in our lifetimes or theirs

Maddux and Glavine for sure.  Piazza I think should be in.  And Bonds and Clemens.  Much as they did PEDs, it was part of the history of baseball.  Burying them is just as much BS as the game burying PEDs for years on end.  In my opinion anyway (for what it's worth).

EDIT: I forgot Biggio and Bagwell.  Biggio in.  Bagwell like Piaza, "I" think he should be in.

Maddux, Glavine, and Thomas for sure. Why are most of you keeping Thomas out? He is one of the few players in history with a career .300 average and 500 home runs. Piazza was probably on 'roids, and Biggio, though he has 3,000 hits, was never really good enough to deserve the hall. I say let Schilling in this year, too- he wasn't first ballot, but he was still HOF worthy. Bonds and Clemens, though I believe they should get in at some point, deserve to toil for a while longer.

EDIT: Moon, you wouldn't even have Tom Glavine inducted this year?

1-Maddux because he is an elite first-ballot guy, and there aren't as many of those.

    2-Trammell-He was better than Ozzie.

3-Morris-Last time eligible.  He's a stretch, but he was the Schilling of his age.  Excellent SP, but not a regular HOF.  But his renown in the WS has to mean something.

The rest can wait another year.

The dark cloud of steroids certainly hangs over the Hall of Fame balloting.  It is unfortunate that suspicion without even a credible allegation seems to weighing against some players.

Jeff Kent never quite struck me as a Hall of Famer while watching him play, but lifetime numbers for a Second Baseman like his are pretty impressive.

    377 HR's

    1320 Runs Scored

    1518 RBI's

    .290 BA

    .356 OBP

    .500 SLG

    .855 OPS

Biggio, Thomas, Glavine and Maddux for sure.

    not sure here

R U suggesting thomas was clean and piazza was a cheater user

no idea how anyone could do that

I say let Schilling in this year, too- he wasn't first ballot, but he was still HOF worthy.

    I agree

Bonds and Clemens, though I believe they should get in at some point, deserve to toil for a while longer.

Beantowne '' The steroid boys won't make it in our lifetimes or theirs ''

I just don't want it to happen in their lifetimes

their numbers are part of the game

but I really don't want to see them standing there rubbing elbows with the others

or making any more money off of it................ put  them in after they pass

Re: HOF ballot...who do you put in?

My list is a bit longer then others. Kind of upset that my binky vote of Dale Murphy is no longer eligble.

    Greg Maddux
    Tim Raines
    Curt Schilling
    Jeff Bagwell
    Craig Biggio
    Larry Walker
    Mike Piazza

My reason for not voting for Glavine, Thomas and Mussina is simply first ballot bias, otherwise I would have 10.

I think I would probably vote for Trammel and Edgar Martinez their last season eligble.

Re: HOF ballot...who do you put in?

I would vote for NINE guys this year (in this order):

    Maddux

    Thomas

    Glavine

    Piazza

    Biggio

    Schilling

    Raines

    Bagwell

    Morris

I think that people may be forgetting how dominant The Big Hurt was:

    TWO-time MVP

NINE time top 8 finisher in the MVP race, SEVEN times in a row, SIX times in the top 4

EIGHT times oWAR of 6.2 or better and FIVE times of 7.1 or better

He was dominant and was dominant for a long time.  He was a big guy coming out of Auburn and did not appear to get significantly larger during his career.  His career tailed off at the age of 32, with only 2 seasons of oWAR at 3.0 or better after that age (4.3 at age 35 and 3.1 at age 38).

WAR of 73.6, which is 81st overall and only trails the following position players from his prime:

    Barry Bonds (lots of roids)

    Alex Rodriguez (lots of roids)

Ken Griffey, Jr. (will be in)

    Jeff Bagwell (should be in)

    Chipper Jones (will be in)

Adjusted career OPS+ of a whopping 156, which is 20th all time and finished top 2 in OPS+ an incredible SEVEN times.

Although I would vote for more, I think that four make it this year:

    Maddox (1st ballot)

    Piazza (2nd ballot)

    Biggio (2nd ballot)

    Morris (15th and last ballot)

And these holders will make it in 2015:

    Thomas (2nd ballot)

    Glavine (2nd ballot)

    Bagwell (5th ballot)
