I too drew some parallels between free agent pitcher Ryan Madson and global warming.

Personally, I can't wait for global warming.

    Winter is overrated.

Well Ben didn't lie, he signed Jose Valdez a RHP to minor league contract. Jose (no relation to Juan the coffee farmer from Columbia) Valdez is a 30yr., old AAA pitcher who pitched for the Astros minor leaguers, he compiled a 5.29 era over 39 1/3 innings. He has shown the ability to gat swing and misses with a 8.7 ko ratio per 9 innings, but he also misses hp a lot because he walked folks at a rate of 5.7 per 9 innings. Or in other words he won't be pitching in Boston anytime in the next decade barring a catastrophic disaster...

I guess that was Grady Sizemore a possible high upside but nothing that makes me want to jump in the air and scream.

Looks like Matt Garza is going to the Brewers (4 ys, $52 million)...that didn't take long. We'll start seeing the post-Tanaka dominoes falling pretty rapidly now, I think.

Why would they sign Bob Brenly's kid? He hasn't shown any promise as a catcher, hitter or even a bat boy.

The Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins are viewed as the top 2 landing spots for the 2011 MVP of the Korean Baseball Organization. Yoon seems to project more as a relief pitcher at the major league level."

We already have Vazquez, Lavarnway, and Butler at Pawtucket anyway unless there's a trade...not sure where he would fit.

Well there could always be a trade in the works. I also read the Yoon report and the Cubs are hot on his trail, I don't know the level of want on the part of the Sox or Twins but apparently there is a second team in the bidding.
