Absolutely! Second guessing the manager and booing the umpires are god given birth rights, bestowed upon every baseball fan. We're taught from an early age that if "dad" was the manager the team would go 162-0!

As for the aquisition of Ichiro with the news that Gardner is out for the year. It's a solid pick-up for pennies on the dollar. Ichiro will fill Gardners role nicely, playing left at Yankee stadium, batting down in the order, giving them a little speed off the bench. Who knows they may even get a couple of weeks of vintage Ichiro who now has an incentive to finish the season strong...

Yankees gave up a couple of low levels and have nothing to lose.
A change of scenery could be an what he needs.
His OBP this year is .288 and last year it was .310.  He only hits singles and doesn't walk.  Outside of still being a good defensive outfielder, he doesn't have anything left to offer.
I would rather have Daniel Nava.

Well, good luck with Daniel Nava! No Red Sock fan should want ANY of these losers pulling up the rear of the AL East. I don't know what fan base is more dillusional in 2012; Ped State or RS Nation...

BT  - and he can bunt.

The biggest upside to this is the saving of wear and tear on Jones and Ibanez, Neither one of them were scheduled to play this many games in the field. They have both produced big time and that can now continue as they get the additional time off.

The Yankee role (bench) players; Jones, Ibanez, Chavez, Ichiro - all these guys want is a ring. They are not there to pad HoF stats. They just want to win. the 2012 Yanks are beginning to remind me of the 96 Yanks and that is a good thing.

If Joba comes back in August (touching the radar gun at 100) and Andy uses Sept. as a spring training and is ready for October, don't be shocked if the old men pull something good out of their hat.

And yet the Mariners are paying most of the contract.  Worst case scenario Ichiro is the fourth OF providing speed of the bench and OF defense, best case scenario, he's  the everday LF playing like his old self
