IF the Phillies make Cliff Lee available, what would be the cost to land him?

Lee would be a big plus for any rotation

I think his skill set will age well

but I don't think the sox need him unless

buchholz is more serious than we think

No "source" for you, Hill, but Middlebrooks would be VERY attractive to the Phillies Front Office.  He is one heck of a lot more regarded as a kid with a good attitude and "once a decade" power hitter than he is on this board...

We can all hope that Will Middlebrooks someday lives up to his early hype, but 5+ seasons of minor league stats suggest that Middlebrooks has some serious flaws

    Hill55,

You spent this entire past off season explaining how the Red Sox were a "69 win team," how the Mariners had much more "potential," how it would be next to impossible for the Red Sox to improve 20 plus wins in one season, etc., etc.,...Give it up....You were dead wrong..."WAR" is a stat that is "ok" if used in moderation.  Enjoy your giant "sh*t burger" with Moon and be done with it!  The Sox are in a great position, they don't give a sh*t about manipulated stats like "WAR" and the fans here in Boston are loving it!
