    Re: IGGY POPPED?

I agree! Experience is so much more valuable than a person still learning the game in a major league setting. ALL DAY ALL THE TIME. I said this in threads before these games. I was confident having Drew in there. He also would know what to do with a ball when he got it over and above a rookie. I say Drew doesn't even throw that ball, never mind into the stands. Simply because you know...from experience. That throw put a runner in scoring position, and he was nowhere near even getting him out.

I also sometimes wonder if the plays he makes jumping in the air, could have been made by a talented, experienced player without jumping in the air. Makes for great visual moments, but are they really always necessary?

Sorry, but you're an idiot, no malice at all.

Drew's been a plate embarrassment the entire 2012 and 2013 playoffs. He made a little league error last night with his "bobble hands". Igleasis was put in off the bench on a cool damp night. If he starts, that doesn't happen.

So you're saying he can't be trusted as a late inning defensive replacement.

If it's 'cool' or 'damp'.  (Horrible conditions for baseball.)

    Ouch!

Fielder did not do his job either by letting that ball go by. And can't blame Iggy for Salty's hot shot. Come on.

But, this deal is about Iglesias value and cost over many years to come. Drew's a one year mercenary who has been a bad value and fit. Bottom line, his last game with the Red Sox is just a few games away.

Middlebrooks started the "miracle" comeback with his double in the 8th. He's been a rock at 3rd, in the field.

Bogaerts needs to start at SS.

    End of story.

    This was a nice chuckle.

First of all, Bogaerts have not gotten any hit in the post season either.  What make you think he ll go 3 for 5 or 3 for 4 if he is going to start??   The entire team is batting under .250 against Detriot.   Why you always look at guys who havent got a hit, and bench them, and replace a guy you think he ll get a hit.  Fans whined over Napoli, and then he was replaced by Carp, and still Carp got nothing going.

You got to give Detriot a credit for doing an excellent job trying to shut down the Boston Red Sox offense
