It looks like the Indians also signed Jason Giambi to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Before running into Valentine, Dice was 49-30 with a 4.25. He might be good enough so you don't need to promote Bauer. -

That could be a real steal for the Indians.A nice "Low risk, high reward" signing for them.

Good thing they have that fancy mustard in the Jake...
Dice gonna be able to nibble with it this year.
I'm granting a general amnesty to anyone playing under Valentine. Virtually everyone got worse. -

To think I thought Francona lost all his hair waiting for Dice to throw a strike..... guess he didn't get enough. On a serious note good luck to both w/ the Indians.

As long as they sign him cheap/low risk, it's a great signing. I've always been amazed at the hate he got here. For a guy who was essentially our #4 or #5 guy, he performed very well. Sure he was grossly overpaid, but honestly, it isn't our money so who cares? I'm very surprised how nobody had signed him for a #5 guy by now.

I can't believe Tito was all in, on this move. It is bad enough he's in Cleveland, but now must endure another year of DiceK.

Of course, you know that we will finally see the jyro ball now. I predict 22-4/ 2.34 for him and a Cy Young Award. I also predict the forum will light up with threads about how the Sox misused him--of course......

It looks like a good risk to me.He's signed to a minor league contract and gets a base salary of 1.5M if he makes the team. That's NOTHING to be worried about.
Daisuke Matsuzaka will make $1.5 million in base salary if he passes physical and makes team. #Indians.

He obviously can be a winning pitcher in MLB. Will he be? Probably not.

If he has a good season, watch how many people will suddenly be saying Ben is an idiot and we should never have let him go...
