    Interesting Home-Road Splits

The Sox can't hit on the road, right? That's the conventional wisdom.

They hit .286 at home and .263 on the road, which isn't a huge difference. OPS is .813-.752. Again, not a huge difference.

Here's how it translates in W-L and Runs scored and allowed splits.

    Home: 40-22; (runs) 311-259; (average runs) 5.01-4.18
    Away: 33-30; (runs) 311-262; (average runs) 4.93-4.16

When all is said and done, the runs scored and runs allowed differences in the H-A splits are nearly the same, yet the difference in W-L records is greater.

Don't know what to make of it, but I find it interesting.

    Re: Interesting Home-Road Splits

The Yanks have 39 games left the Sox have 36. The Yanks have 30  games againt the East; 19 against the Sox, O's and Ray's. The Sox have 22 against the East, 12 home 10 away.

    The Sox play the O's 9 X(6 H, 3 A) and the Ray's 3 A, the Yankees 7 X ,4 A and 3 H; Toronto 3 H.

A couple of keys--the Sox have 8 interleague games on the road--no DH.

We have 6 scheduled days off the rest of the season.

It will be tough the rest of the way for everybody.

But colorado series is on the last week of august.  So I wouldnt worry about that series right now.  Just worry about this tough road trip.  If Sox goes 3-3 or better, I would be damn happy.

And for the other three AL east teams, they still have a difficult schedule.

Best way is to have Boston start winning.  Heck no way that any of these other three AL east teams will go on a hot winning streak.  Their schedule are difficult just liek Boston's
