Did you see the play? The guy landed right on his shoulder and upper arm. Here's an idea, have a 200 lb. guy jump up in the air and land on your shoulder and upper arm and see how you fare. And in case you've forgotten Ells wasn't the only outfielder Adrian Beltre put on the DL in 2010.

Please, lets not start this all over again with Ells. Guys like Ells run the bases and dive for balls which is the way the game should be played, unlike Adrian who plays a passive type of game. High energy type players like Ells and Kalish will be much more prone to injuries, or Youk who likes to crowd the plate. -

Mikey,Youre starting these threads under the disquise of being a legitimate discussion, while trying to get under sox fans skin, as was your intent with the lavarnway thread. it's just a few hours after after one of our best players sustained what seems to be a serious injury, coupled with other injuries and a slow start, throwing it everyone's face. Doubt you would appreciate this type of thread if the situation was reversed. Nothing funny about any player sustaining a serious injury, which could impact their future, regardless of the team affiliation. -

Posted by CamelwalkC'mon man, this just isn't called for. However to answer your question, absolutely not! Both plays were big hits, I tore my labrum with someone landing on me the same way Ells was landed on today (granted it wasn't baseball, but rugby). The real questions is how quickly does Ells heal and how long does it take him to come back? Kalish has missed a full season related to his labrum tear last year. -

You're right except for one thing: Beltre wasn't in the wrong on either of those. The LF should have called him off both times, he made the right play by going hard to the end. If anything, Beltre had a right to be p i s s e d about getting flipped. -

The Grandyman probably would endure that, I agree. He also didn't spend much of 2010 on the DL. -

Teilhardian started a similar thread earlier and I objected to it since he was a gloating Yankee fan and right away I was called a Piker and Kimer by the twosome of Examiner and J-Bay. Why is this thread any different? It's another thread started by a Mikey who happens to be in bed with with J-Bay and Examiner. Put all of this fraternity onto ignore or else you'll be their bait for the rest of the season. -

Bad cop, good cop. The Camelwalk, Examiner, J-Bay charade is getting predictable and old. Give it a rest troll group / fraternity. Mikey gets scolded by J-Bay and told to go to bed and he goes over to the Politics Forum, puts on a new hat, and dials up his IQ and dialogue but continues to troll and be a pr-ick. Boring. Don't take the bait from this group. -

I didn`t see the play. Did he slide into base head first or feet first? If head first, than he can only blame himself.

Afraid not pike. There's a difference between common sense posting and MacCarthian obsession mixed with deceit and duplicity. -

Yes, Burrito calling out Mikey / Camelwalk for trolling reeks of McCarthyism. How dare he uses logic to label Mikey / Camelwalk as an obvious troll. The problem is that dozens of posters are identifying trolls on the forum these days and you and J-Bay want to dismiss that they are correct and want to label all of them as being one poster. -

How would you fare if you ran into Adrain Beltre at speed?

Fair or not, Ellsbury's got the fragile label now. The biggest mistake this off-season was not selling high on him.
