    [QUOTE]In Response to Re: IS WAKEFIELD A HEX ON THE RED SOX? : What about all of the unearned runs Wakefield gives up due to the knuckler and PB's. He gives up lots of hits and HR's that are unearned runs, but he's not able to get out of the innings. Throw that data into your analysis.

    He gave up 3 hits in 5 innings. How does that compare to the rest of the rotation?

    [QUOTE]Yes. Isnt it true that if Wastefied hits a batter, throws a WP and gives up a triple then no runs are earned;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

    Not true. An error or a PB or a WP that put a runner on base, that should have resulted in an out, and then said runner scores as a result of that "extra out", then the run is unearnred.

     Aceves as a starter has never really worked out so well

    Are you familiar with Aceves record as a starter?

    Aceves would be a great starter, but that would leave the Red Sox with an inadequate bullpen.  He is much more valuable in his current role.

    Not with current staff condition and roster expansion. Hard to be valuable coming in to blowout losses, one after the other.
