Jason Bay released...how they have fallen.

    Mariners released OF Jason Bay.

Bay passed through waivers after being designated for assignment by the Mariners last week. The 34-year-old outfielder batted .204/.298/.393 in 236 plate appearances with Seattle. He'll attempt to latch on elsewhere.

Bay has had a decent career ... most fans have a very distorted view of what can be expected of hitters after 32. This is the post-steroid era for most. Some guys just decline really, really quickly.

It's possible that playing in Fenway permanently screwed him up. He was tailor-made for Fenway. Shame he lost it fast.

crashing into the wall and missing all that time

with a concussion didn't help either

He went for the money and it changed his career for the worse...i loved this guy as the anti-Manny and so did almost all the Sox fans....a cautionary tale....however he will retire a multi-millionairre in his mid 30s and you and I will work to support the EBT voodoo queen for life (read the Hearld - pretty funny yet horrifying story)

    As always - 100% correct!
