Seems Crain is not ready to help any club just yet. Not sure I would take a chance on him being the player to fortify our bullpen with a sore shoulder that has had a setback. Maybe we should go after Hochevar.

I say the Red Sox are the third team, with Peavy coming to Boston. :)

...actually, probably not, but that would be fun.

I think Sox won't be adding any big names since they all are asking for top prospects.

Pirates, D'Backs Front Runners For Brian Wilson By Tim Dierkes [July 29 at 2:52pm CST]

The Pirates and Diamondbacks are the strong front runners for free agent reliever Brian Wilson, tweets Bob Nightengale of USA Today, who notes that Wilson has offers from four NL teams and one AL club.  Yesterday, Yahoo's Tim Brown noted interest from the same mix of five teams.

Wilson, 31, auditioned for teams Thursday with the Pirates, Diamondbacks, Athletics, Giants, Phillies, Rangers, Rockies and Cardinals in attendance.  The former Giants closer had Tommy John surgery in April 2012.

    Brian Wilson - R - Giants

Bob Nightengale of USA Today hears the Diamondbacks and Pirates are "strong front runners" for Brian Wilson.

Nightengale says the still-bearded right-hander has five offers -- two from National League teams and one from an American League squad. Wilson looked sharp in a workout for several contending clubs last Thursday and expects to be in a major league bullpen by the middle of August. If he is at full strength, he would make sense for a variety of clubs. The right-hander had Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery in April 2012.

yesterday the 3 team deal for crain was reported as being "close" to being finalized. Today it was reported as being "not close". it seems talks hit a snag.

Some say a storm is coming, Some say the end is near.

Some think it's all so hazy, I think it's all so clear.

Some say they have the answers, some say they know the truth.

Some people live in question, some people have no clue.

If there was no tomorrow, if there was just today.

would you make different choices? or would you stay the same?
