In Response to Jeter, Martin battling injuries:
Guys, Jeter is out with a calf injury and now Martin couldn't catch because of a groin injury. Swisher remains out with a groin injury and we don't know when or if Garcia will be back. The Yankees appear to be going down faster than the Titanics. Now they think old man Pettite will save them. A-roid better start sharing the Dominican boli. Meanwhile, the Sox are having an injury free spring and looked poised to burst out of the gate. It may be a struggle for the Yankees to keep up.

Its still ST, so why report every injury the Yanks get and make a big deal of it?

Because he's not interested in posting good things about his team; just bad things about the Yankees, and often exaggerated.

Your making my point Furcal was not even on the team at the start of the year, so the Card's made an up-grade at trade deadline. The Yanks don't have that option unless your advocating sitting Jeter down.
Posted by attic-dan I might be wrong but didn't Martin pull a "Varitek", last year by starting strong then falling off a cliff as the season wore on. U R right about him having a big april and then sliding   but his aug was just as good as his april Catching looks to be a major weakness on team.  I don't think so our pitchers don't think so oh you mean compared to all the AS playing around him wait a minute martin was an AS last yr too define MAJOR weakness ?   Just asking, but when was the last time a team with such an old man at SS ever win anything?  no idea but while you smile about his age I'm smiling thinking about him hitting 327 avg 383 OBP in the 2nd 1/2 when he was older than his 1st 1/2 of the yr and when he hit 270 the yr B4
    Posted by pinstripezac
Gedman made the allstar team too, didn't make him a good catcher. I'll stand by my statement that Martin, Cervelli is major weakness on team.

Jeter hit .297 last yr, with his usual limited range but high FPCT. This inane posturing is all you have for a rebuttal?

Steve, this is a Sox board not a baseball board. And you take this waaay too seriously when someone says something negative about the Yankees. They're not your family. They're a baseball team, which you, yourself, admitted weren't even your favorite team when you moved to another state. I don't get your devotion to them now, or know why you would hang out here if it makes you so angry.

Injury free spring? I thought Carl Crawford and Iglasius had injuries. Either I'm not paying attention or you are not paying attention.
