It looks like Hamilton's market may be coming down to 3 years unless the Yanks come in and blow everyone else away. The word is that the Rangers and Ms are only offering 3 years.

Put Ellsbury down at three and Victorino at the top of the lineup. Think that's a winner, however don't see signing Hamilton as a possibility.

nor do I see iggy hitting and calling him the "Wizard" is an insult to Ozzie Smith

Hi, Jete. Agree, all things being equal. No hometwon discount but he wants to stay and they want him to.

This is how the Yankees operate.  Pay no attention to what they say.  History tells us that they are always in the market for the top free agents.  Hamilton to New York would not surprise me in the least.

    Hey Jete ..

The rumors I've seen on MLBtraderumors.com say that Hamilton is Texas' second choice. They rather sign Greinke, but they can't sign both for financial reasons. If the Rangers sign Greinke, don't be surprised to see lots of talk about the Sox and especially the Yankees going after him.

But,it's called MLBtraderumors for a reason, they're just rumors.

Kinda like how they dubbed Ladanian Tomlinson "LT".

There's only one LT. The media sucks.

Iglesias will not hit. He can't hit in the minors, why would he be able to hit in the majors? Ciriaco will hit, he has hit in the majors. The fascination with Iggy is not justified. His defense is good, but how many of the balls he gets to that an ordinary SS might not get to will actually be run saving. His defense won't save 10 runs a year over an adequate SS. Include him in the very next deal they make, get him out of contention for a spot on the Sox roster.

any action by a player of any orgnization is a reflection of both, IMO

The free agent game has changed. The Yank's no longer can swoop in a get their man, if said man wants to play for someone else and the terms of the deal are close (see Cliff Lee). Where once they where the only team willing to set the market for AAV. After now a decade of revenue sharing, every franchise is "solvent" with positive cash flow. Opening up the geographical map now with Texas, Anahiem, LA, Chicago, Baltimore, Seattle, Milwaukee and St. Louis all willing to spend 20M annually. My guess is that Hamilton would rather stay in Texas...
