Was told earlier today that the recovery time for Ryan Kalish after his shoulder surgery is six months. So he might not be ready to start baseball-type activities until August. That means the coming season is probably a wash for him......

Remember most players ramp up or start their real training for season right after holidays. Usually Nov/Dec resting and letting body heal up. Could be were playing thru it during season or possibly hurt it starting up training regiment? But with RS and medical staff anything is a possibility. Seems like they would have problems diagnosing the common cold.

This is a drag. I've always liked Kalishm but at this point he is looking more like a suspect than a prospect.

I read somewhere that he would be fully reconvered before May. I guess they are wrong.. Dominic Brown might be available. He could learn to play 1B and platoon 1B/OF with Gomes and NAps.

WHo told you this? I have yet to see your 6 month prediction anywhere. If it is true though.....then looks like we have our current Jed Lowrie. The guy is a walking injury....time to move on from thinking he'll be back every year and get somebody that can stay on the field and actually contribute.

They refused to part w/ Domonic Brown for Halladay. I know his stock has dropped tremendously since then; however, I just cant see them selling low on him. -

Maybe we can trade Iglesias for him. One prospect with diminishing value for another... -

How the hell does he get so injured?
All he does is miss time and have surgeries... -

Probably because Kalish didn't say anything. Unless there's reason for a MRI, etc. it's up to the player to say something. Kalish probably said nothing hoping to land a spot. When he started amping up with workouts, he realized something was wrong with his shoulder, told the team, and voila, here we are. -

The Kalish era is over. I can't imagine that he will be around in 2014. There will be others in the organization that pass him right by

i'm ready to cut ties with the kid. The injuries are unfortunate but at this point it seems we will never see him healthy and it's not worth the roster space. If Kalish manages to get healed up and re-emerges with another team then so be it. i'm over it

Kalish will still be aound after the surgery. He has a savior, high up in the organization that has his backside. Like "Coma" had Nate Spears, this unknown has Ryan Kalish. Unarguably the worst player on the 40 man roster, Spears is now in Cleveland with "Coma". We hope that Tito is able to come out of his 8yr. deep sleep in Boston and revitalize the tribe. Plain Dealer readers are thinking Wild Card minimum for 2013 Indians. Nick will have to have an MVP year for that to happen and "Coma" will have to wake up.
