Kevin might be one of those rare successful athletes that is more likeable outside of the game than in it...his competitveness sometimes led to unwise choices and he always came off badly outside of Boston - but from everything I have read/heard about him as a person, he seems like a good guy...

plus he's related to tom brady...case closed

Kevin Youkilis' future child: "Dad, can you buy me this toy?"

Kevin Youkilis: "No because I just bought you one last week."

Kevin Youkilis' future child: "Uncle Tom, can you buy me this toy?"

    Tom Brady: "Sure buddy!!!  Anytime!!!"

Babe, while I understood why fans, other than Red Sox, didn't like him, I think you'll come to realize he's a good guy.  Friend of mine works at the Casino in CT, where Youk does his annual youk for kids charity benefit. Said he never meet anyone who had  dealings with him over the years, say anything but positive things about him. Then, met him himself and agreed.

Even in pinstripes, Youk will always be a Red Sox to me, also, even if I can't root him. He was home grown, one of our own and  gave it all he had, wearing the Red sox uniform.

I disagree and now see how he is not a great clubhouse guy.

Regardless of how he truly feels, it was his first day in Pinstripes.

He should have said how happy he was to put on a Yankee uniform and to be in a position to help a contending team win, and left it at that.

I can understand how bosox fans likie what he said, but exactly how does it benefit him in his current environment? It doesn't.

Maybe he really is part of the cancer that has affected the sawx clubhouse in recent years.

How does anything he said in the interview, equate to being a part of a clubhouse cancer or not a great guy, clubhouse or ortherwise. First day in pinstripes, why not give him a chance?

    [/QUOTE] i'm sure they(Yankee players) get it

I'm sure they do get it, except for Joba.  ;-)

Love him or hate him, rest assured that you are getting a player who leaves it all out on the field every game, and approaches every at bat like it's the last out of the WS.

It's really going to hurt watching him play in pinstripes.

...where Yankee fans controlled what was said by Sox fans, and abused and attacked Sox fans who went against their guidelines while slamming the Sox at the same time. Good riddance to that board. Maybe it will encourage more Sox fans to post here so we wouldn't be outnumbered. I don't know why you'd mind though as you already have you and your pals set up on other Sox boards. Maybe it's time for Sox fans to have their own boards, you know, like Yankee fans do on all their boards.
