AL34 does have a point though about yankee prospects being busts. Look at joba, coke, austin jackson, andrew brackman, phil hughes is semi bust, just to name a few. All were highly touted yankee prospects and all have done nothin but suck. And just look at the yankees roster. How many young guys do they have on their team that they developed? nova and gardner are the only good ones. cervelli and nunez are nothing special.

    Re: Kurodo signs with Yankees

The Red Sox have to get a major pitcher, not many of our top three guys Lester, Beckett, Bucholtz have gone over 200 innings. If one of these guys goes down for an extended period this team is dead !!! They cannot count on the throwaways and garbage from other teams that Henry has instructed young Ben to pick up. Management is already behind the power curve with the Yankee additions of Pineda and Kuroda. Stop with this luxury tax nonsense and spend some money. Enough with this nonsense of converting relievers to become starters, there is nothing guaranteed there either.  Stop with the talk about next years class of free agent pitchers either, nothing guaranteed there either.

Unfortunately two pitchers are done for the year. Matsusaka always takes a agonizing long time to come back from an injury. Balls in Mr. Henry's Court now! Take some of that money out of the vault and spend it.

I believe that I wrote last night what is shared by many within the Yankee organization that Montero was considered the best offensive ballplayer that farm system has produced since MM.

That's a long way from calling Montero the next Mickey Mantle.

yes, the yankees just secured second place with those moves - better moves than the Sox but that rotation is no match for the Rays.....not to mention Detroit, Texas, and the Angels.......I'd rather lay low this year and position ourselves for 2013.......we need a good 162 games to wash off the lingering stink that Theo left on us and then we could start anew.

No guarantee there either. The Yankees will outspend them next year as well.

Joba and Hughes are busts? The two then are still in their mid twenties apparently you don't follow baseball very closely.

Robinson Cano was signed as a FA by the Yankees in 2001 and developed in their organization, he was promoted in 2005 along with Chien-Ming Wang who was in the Yankee farms.

Ian Kennedy 21-4 last season came up through the Yankee farm drafted in 2006 with Joba, Robertson, Melancon, and Dellin Betances.

David Robertson wasn't developed in the Yankee organization?

Robinson Cano was a Houston Astro who was picked up from them in 2007. He is not a Yankee prospect. Hughes has never lived up to the hype nor has Joba who is being touted as a head case. Ian Kennedy was a bust till last year as well. Robertson is good.

I'm not going to repeat myself, you don't know what you're talking about.

Cano came up entirely through the Yankee farm system.

You really should get your facts right pal.
