what would the Tigers do with their All Star catcher Aviles and expensive DH Victor M? I also dont see them moving Prince off of 1B to play Salty at 1B

    You have to excuse soxyjim.

He's one of those posters that view trades only from the Sox point of view.

It's a wonder anyone wants to come here and post, when most of the regulars try to make people look like fools.

The OP had a trade suggestion. He is correct for wanting to get rid of dead weight, and Porcello would be a great addition. In order for this trade to work, another team would need to be involved who could use Lackey or Salty, but don't bust on the guy for wanting to contribute to the discussions.

    You guys are brutal!

is it brutal to ask for some one to put a little thought into an op?

while I am at it, why do you consider Lackey and Salty "dead weight"? LAckey has 3 years with an anual avg value of approx $10mil per year left on his contract. He has the potential post injury to return to a 200 inning pitcher and win 12-15 games. At $10 mil per, that is tremendous under market value, not "dead weight" . Salty ranked #18 out of 103 catchers in WAR last year, certainly giving him value, as opposed to "dead weight"
