Good for Lackey. Now go strike the piece of crap out four times and be done with him.

After he pops him, in his first at bat.

Wondered why no one plunked him yet.

Agreed. But perhaps because stupidity was reined in.

Yes, Im sure Lackey would be immediately ejected and fined if he happens to hit Arod once tonight. Rubbish.

Disagree; IMO the umps are looking for this. Regardless, I doubt a 1st place team would want to do this, especially with Farrell at the helm. If Lackey does this, here's guessing it's on his own, and at Farrell's displeasure, crank fan wishes notwithstanding.

The ump would probably tell him "I'll give you one more, but that's it".

If it hits him in the tush, most likely yes.

Despite his teammates loathing him, it sounds like you're not concerned about ejection, retaliation, or suspension.

Lackey isn't going to get ejected for the first one.

It'll be interesting to see if A-rods teammates will actually have his back.

IMO only if Girardi instructs him to, but similar to Mussina, Pettite wouldn't do this; Sabathia is another story as a general rule.

I wasn't advocating hitting him in the head.

Not even a giant sphincter like A-Rod deserves that.

An apt description; I prefer creep.

    In response to ZILLAGOD's comment:

The comments by Gomes and Lackey are stupid. They should know better, a no comment would have been the proper response.

Look, the Yankees are down , reeling and falling out of contention. Why, oh why, give them anything to rally around? Why ruffle feathers? Just play the games, it is obvious the Sox are on the rise after the great collapse....the Yankees on the other hand are on the downward spiral.

But, we know too well what is behind all this trash talk and rhetoric...don't we?

The T.V. ratings are liable to be down considering the Rays and O's have become bigger Sox rivals due to their rising to the top of the division. The Yankees are no more than the travelling A-Rod circus for the remainder of the season, so let's spark some interest in a possible beaning, a bench clearing brawl and the chance for A-Rod to shut Lackey up with a game winning homer. Or maybe Lackey strikes out A-Rod with bases loaded.

Either way , there is bound to be drama. And isn't baseball and all of pro sports become the ultimate reality show? With all the trash talking, hair pulling, rumors of drug use and scandal drama???

The pro sports world has torn a page out of the WWF and Vince McMahon's playbook. Off the field news and drama has exceeded the actual game in the media.

Yes, because that clubhouse has A-Rods back and just love the guy. That ought to get them mad and fired up.

Most of those guys in the NYY clubhouse probably feel the same way Lackey and Gomes feel.

It's still Red Sox vs. Yankees. And when the chips are down, the Yankees will stand up for their own.

Sorry, but I dont think they need Lackey or Gomes to get them motivated to play the Sox is all. I saw it as another attempt by you to criticize the Sox for something.

They may halfheartedly have his back. Make no mistake though, most guy dont like a sellout snitch regardless if hes on their team or not. The NYY will do what they HAVE to. Maybe.
