In Response to Larry, Change the Narrative now! Call the media flunkies and Put Beckett and Ellsbury on the waiver wire Trade block!:
[QUOTE]Even if the right deal can't be closed and these players have to be kept unitl the winter, change the narrative by making Beckett the source of the player leadershp problem and show that you are in the process of cleaning out his stall at the first best window of opportunity. This will change the narrative and let the players and all know that Beckett's leadership days and career with the Red Sox are, de facto, over.

For your information, these two guys are not the reason why Boston struggling in all year along.  It is everyone.

It is just too much medias involved, players/managers clash, injuries, too many down years for most players, etc.

Getting rid of few guys will not make the team any better for the rest of the season.

Wait until this off season, and Ben will try to make the team a better team next year!!

Just like part of the reason Theo left. there are too many cooks in the kitchen...ownership/LL need to leave the GM alone and let him do his job...It was obvious from the start that LL was calling the shots when he hired a manager that BC never wanted...Thats the GM's job and he was overruled, so even a blind man can see BC isnt steering this ship...

Funny how Ellsbury is in your thread title, and is nowhere to be found in your "lack of leadership....Beckett...etc." message body. 1. How do you know Beckett is the source of the problem. 2. Why is it, funny clown, that every one of your threads inculdes the idea of trading/dfa' ing/waiving Ellsbury no matter the topic at hand--even if you have to fit it in unnaturally? Have you STILL not made up with your ex over this Ellsbury thing? The Dow is down 300 points! This means we MUST trade that goldbrick Ellsbury. Grow up.

[QUOTE]ownership/LL need to leave the GM alone and let him do his job Wrong. InEpstein was de facto fired, and the mistake was to do a trial period with Cherry, part of the InEpstein administration. The problem is the players that the InEpstein administration contracted with. The problem is the players' player leadershsip, who have reached outrageous lows in their latest attempt to deflect accountability away from them and to the new manager. The players caused Tito to be correctly not given an extension. It's quite obvious that the problem won't be addressed until old player leadership is de facto fired. It starts with the players labor boss, Beckett. Cherry hung on to Beckett and his band of pathetic status quo team, so ownership needs to put the accountability where it belongs, with the players and the GM's office. They need to get a new GM from the outside to dismantle old player labor boss and read the riot act to the remaining players who have been pathetically trying to deflect individual player accountability to take the media heat off of their losing pathetic act.  Don't give the players what they want. Call them out like George used to do, and run the band leader and his followers out of town ASAP. Get rid of the people in the GM's office who went player leadership status quo past trade deadline.

Cherrington was hired by DD before Theo ever got here and before the current ownership...If he was part of Theos "team", like Hoyer, he would be in Chicago right now...he was already here when Theo was hired...didnt we already cover this on another thread?
