A minor league pticher, for a guy who Theo tabbed as "A Justin Morneau clone", and an untouchable a few years ago.
    Another overrated bust.

    Pitcher is 27 y/o Steven Wright. 2.70 ERA with 8.7 K/9 and 2.7 BB/9 in 43 1/3 innings in AAA 2012

Lars will slide right into 1B for the Indians and starts to hit HRs..  Steven Wright will immediately replace Anthony Ranaudo who's season has been lost due to his injury... How smart is that Ben???

A knuckleballer with an 8.7 K/9?  Pretty intriguing.  Worth it for a fading, blocked prospect....

Gee, I was told all eyar how Anderson was yesterday's news and nearly completely worthless.

So he gets dealt for next-to-nothing, and suddenly he is solrely missed.

I really wish some of you people were running an MLB franchise.  Just not the Red Sox....

    Re: Lars to Indians?

Wright is second in the EL in ERA and Ks.  At 27 he is old only for a fireballer.  As a knuckelballer he is exceptionally young, actually.  13 years of arm left, at least.  Couldn't say that about any 22 year-old fireballer.

Big deal?  Likely not.  But turning Lars into something more valuable is a win-win.  Win for Sox, and win for Lars.  I wish him luck and success.

It is also very possible that this trade served two purposes.  Organizational depth is the smaller one.  More important is opening another space on the 40-man roster (without losing Lars for nothing).

They did open one by dealing Pods and Albers for only Breslow.

However, this could be big news for all you Juan Carlos Linares fans out there..

    You're definitely wrong there.
Although misguided in economic & sociopolitical thinking, it's due to naivete and idealism not premeditated evil.
Carnie has always been cheerful, openminded, and contributes to discussions well.
In short,, he's always one of the GOOD GUYS.

Therefore if any questions about poster value remain, these would pertain to you.

Can I be an under-wrought blowhard please ?    Just this once ?

BTW, today 100th anniversary / birthday of (IMHO) the Greatest American economist ever, Dr. Milton Friedman.........whose ideas & policies you no doubt detest, lol.

( Though he WAS a libertarian, espec. on compulsory selective service, drug & prostitution laws, government intrusion in private lives and / or enterprise-----so your anarchist side might accept him ).

Ben is a fool, they could have gotten Verlander for him.....wait a minute, Verlander is only 11-7, there must be a pitcher with a better W-L record than that to mock the fools with.
