I wanted to see that pitch from the side angle to see if the ball actually passed through the stike zone while dropping but couldn't see it anywhere.  Anyway it almost hit the ground so it wouldn't matter anyway.

Rivera's pitch to JBJ last week was worse.

Professional baseball doesn't want to get it right. They want the umps having the power to control the outcome of the metrics within a game. If they didn't, they would simply go to lasers and computers determining the strike zone. It woul be cheaper and would do away with the gambling element influence and access to professional sports.

I agree. I think they should build robots to take the place of the players too.

yep he blew the call, but still not in favor of technology taking over.  i'm sure in time, technology will take over and umpires will be thing of the past.  it may be inevitable, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will be right.

That moment when you really wish there was a robot behind the plate calling balls and strikes. #HumanElement

U are likely one if the few persons on the planet who has this opinion; perhaps check one of the strike zone analysis tools.

Good for the RAYS. That's one of the six calls that will go against them all year out of the way early. Man MLB really wants a team in Tampa bad.

I've always said it.  The technology exists to provide an electronic field for a strike zone directly over the plate.  If the ball breaks that field, it's a strike.
