For all you guys clamoring for Iglesias to be given the big league job immediately, he's got an OPS of .545!!!!  I don't care if he's Ozzie Smith, he has to hit better than that.  The Sox already have catcher as a black hole in their offense.  They can't have 2 positions with no offense and compete in the AL East

Very true. Many fans always want to jump the gun with these young players. Same with Kalish and Nava last year. Baseball is a difficult game. Takes time to develop all the needed skills.

Personally, I'm clamoring for Navarro, with a .983 OPS.

The question is how low of a batting average is acceptable for Inglesias if his defense takes a hit a game away from the opposition. I'm in no rush however.

Iglesias has been up 62 times in a new league and already there's panic.
Navarro is the interesting one at this point.

I don't think anything we said involves "panic".  I've just read many posts wanting Iglesias on the Sox now and was pointing out that he's not ready for that job yet.

Agree on Navarro.  I also really like Tejeda.  After a slow start he's heating it up in AA.

Atchison, Hill and Bowden are putting up some good numbers.

Iglesias will be fine.  Just needs time.  Remember he missed almost half the year last year, his first full year in pro ball.  He may never be a great hitter, but he'll hold his own. Still very young.

Yamaico Navarro is a personal favorite of mine since I saw him play in Portland a few years ago.  He seems to improve every year.  His walk rate and power is increasing.  Can he make the next step to MLB?  It's looking like he could be a nice utility infielder with power.

I think Iglesias comes up next year. Hopefully by then he can give us a .280 BA and a .360 OPS. Anything close to that would be acceptable.
