[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Lavarnway off to a slow start at Pawtucket : I'd love this thread to stay alive the entire season.  Anybody really think Lavarnway's going to be hitting .200 for long?  Opposing teams don't, or they would be pitching to him.

I must have missed where anyone claimed that lavarnway would remain a .200 hitter.

But the fact remains that he is struggling right now in the MINOR leagues.

You can sugarcoat it however you like, but a fact is a fact.

Wake up thread.  Lavarnway homers for the second day in a row.  Only run in the game, so far.

Last I checked the younger and superior hitter Montero is playing in MLB.

[QUOTE]i honestly think lavarnway needs to be called up. keep him in AAA is not going to help him much. and considering how bad salty is, i would rather see lavarnway start and shoppach back him up, trade salty for a middle reliever or back of pen guy if ben can swing it. But its pretty obvious that salty is not our catcher of the future.

I agree with you. Bring Lavarnway up and give him a shot. He is a tremendous talent and we could certainly use him.  I also like your idea of trading Salty, but I'm not sure that we would get much in return.

Well, for one thing it makes the OP look like an idiot, considering five days after mocking him for a slow start, Lavarnway's sporting a .798 OPS.

He's two levels higher than Andy Pettitte right now.
