    I hear ya. I was too after last year, but Im leaning more to keeping him where hes at because of his great success and the fact that we now have some quality pitching on its way up to Boston. So for now, I say keep him right where he is.

    We do have a lot of good pitching prospects....

    but we could always use more. We can trade Aceves, Workman and others if necessary to upgrade. It's always an option.

    Lavarnway may well be a back up catcher but what is wrong with that. That is of significant value. Ross has been a back up catcher his entire career and an important contributor. If that is Lavarnway's fate I'm fine with that.

    But if he can hit at anywhere near the level his minor league success indicates he is probably a starter at some point. He would be one of the top hitting catchers in the league according to minor league projection numbers.

    And he's cheap with solid intangibles. I'm still in his corner.
