Re: Lineup pretty much set; Time for batting order

Gomes should only start about 40% of the games, so I don't see why so many people are penciling him in their line-ups.

As of right now, Nava is our best LF'er vs RHPs.

    Sad, but true.

Because the clown thinks AZ wants 1 yr of Ellsbury (and some prospects not named Bogaerts or Barnes)  for 3 years of Upton.

...just like he dreamed of Jake and Jed for AGon.

...just like he dreamed of Jake and Jed for Kemp.

...just like he dreamed of ...

Salty is gone (I fervently pray), C will go Lava/Ross

No more Nava (please) Another outfielder on the way, OF will go Ells/Gomes/Vic/and one of Ross/Hamilton/Swisher with Kalish lurking

Ross is not a good platoon with Gomes, and neither is Kalish.

Like to see Ells go for some pitching (Lee maybe) and sign Hamilton and put Vic in center waiting for Bradley; who is a good platoon for Gomes?

Hey grampa, I think I hear some kids playing on your lawn. You should go check it out. Might break a window er somethin.

Let's start with someone who hits RHPs better than Gomes. Right now, Nava is our best option in LF vs RHPs. That may change soon, but Nava is better than Kalish at the plate right now.

Lavas defense is atrocious. Hes slow and lumbering behind the plate. he NEEDS another year in AAA to play at least 100 games behind the plate before they move him to 1b, where he should be showing off his bat. Catching has taken away from his offense and hes not that good at it either...

Victorino NEEDS to bat leadoff and Ellsbury needs to bat 3rd like a bigboy. Only thing missing from lineup is , Hamilton , Stanton or Wil Meyers.

The only thing missing from this lineup is......a lineup!

I like Iglesias in the minors until he's capable of breaking a .200 BA. They should give Ciriaco a shot as the starting SS.

How can he break .200 in the majors if he's in the minors. Besides, with the stud players Ben has signed, we really don't need Iggy to hit, do we?

I want Cherington to trade Iglesias (they need a SS), Salty (a veteran catcher will help their team even more) and a prospect to Oakland for Brett Anderson.

Wasn't he the best defensive catcher of the year in AAA?

         Again you are FOS.

Currently the Sox aren't close to having the 2nd. highest payroll in MLB.

As for bringing Bay back to Boston you really are out of touch with the game.

Is this a serious question?  The top five have all made the all-star team at least once in the last two years.  So five , and that doesnt include Middlebrooks.

    Since when does:

    Ellsbury and his draft compenastion

Brentz (Bogaerts for Brentz if required to top better offer)

    De La Rosa or Webster

and 1 more from anyone on the farm but Barney and Bradley, Jr

as a pool that would be a 3 team if necessary (goes without saying)

translate to Ellsbury and "some prospects not named Barnes and Bogearts", you big dope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...just like he dreamed of Jake and Jed for AGon.  (Just like he stated a pool of 3 or 4 players that included Ellspuff and "I'm tired" and Rizzo (and kelly if required to close the deal)

...just like he dreamed of Jake and Jed for Kemp. (Just like he stated a pool of 3 or 4 players that included Ellspuff and "I'm tired" before Kemp's big season and while the Dodgers were locked in a divorce on multiple levels

Just like you dreamed of offering Tim Wastefield 2M in a market that was zero, you big dope!

Royals kick the tires to see if John Lester is available.  Apparently they want to make a push to be competitive this year.  As a result, they decide not to trade any ML players and instead offer their best prospect for Lester.

BDC Forum reaction: lets expand the trade so the Royals include Billy Butler (their best hitter who is 26 yrs old).

    Swing and a miss.

You know what I meant Drewski. I'm talking about now! Only Pedey and Papi are potential AS's in this lineup.

Um, ok.  But if a guy is one year removed from an mvp-calibre year (Ellsbury), I would call him a potential all-star, no?  So there are 3.  How many clubs can you name that have 3?  Foxes have Granderson (if he is still on the roster), Cano and ... I don't know, jeter if you can't popular vote nonsense as legit allstar.  Detroit has Fielder/Cabrera and ... no one.  Angels have Trout and ... who is the magic club who has more than 3?  And that is not even mentioning Middlebrooks.  I won't mention Napoli because, even if he regains his all-star form of 2011, he wont get in as a first baseman, but he still might be all-star quality.

Napoli is one year removed from an MVP campaign so 4.  Vic has 2 all-star games in the last five years, so I wouldnt say its outside the realm of possibilities that he makes the all-star game.

But , really, who cares?  Its a popularity contest anyways.
