    Lowrie The Butcher SS

Look, Jed tries so hard to be an elite MLB SS that he is. The fact that he butchers a little with regular erros and the range of Boog Powell should be overlooked. He's hitting like Babe Ruth, an on-base maching who strikes fear in all Right handed pitchers and commands a free pass against all Left handed pitchers.

When will he be extended, like Pedroia?

softy goes over the top with his criticism of Lowrie, but Jed does need to be taken for task for his approach on the pop fly he dropped.

He went at it with a too casual one-handed approach. It always bugs me when fielders catch a ball with one hand. That's why I was glad to see Pedroia use two hands on the pop up early in tonight's game.

why would anyone be upset with a young short stop hitting well in the majors and a defensive whiz playing regular in the minors?  after years of Lugo and Renteria - seems for right now the Sox have found some balance at short.

    Re: Lowrie The Butcher SS

How can you call Jed a Butcher after watching Renteria,Lugo and Scrubby play SS for the better part of the last 8 years, the only true defensive SS's the Sox have had on their rosters since 2004 were Cabrerra and Gonzales! Renteria looked like a lost soul at the position and Lugo created a new defensive manuaver known as the Lugo flop! But Scrubby perfected it.....Have no fear Iglesias is only a year or two away from starting everyday and then the Gold glove SS will have arrived.
