29 Sox players on the DL this season....most in Sox history.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Middlebrooks is done for the season.... This is a great time for IGGY to come up to play SS..... : Isn't that amazing?  But what is equally amazing is this: Between them, Beckett and Lester are 10-19 with a 5.18 ERA. Worse yet, the Red Sox have gone 15-27 in their 42 starts. If they were merely 21-21, they would be leading the wild card race and having a chance to catch the Yankees.

[QUOTE]Iggy should start at SS and Ciriaco at 3B vs RHPs and Aviles vs LHPs. Get rid of Aviles through the waiver wire before they have to throw him in the Boston dumpsters. Go with Ciriaco at SS and Gomez at 3B, with Punto off the bench for the next 20 days. After roster expansion in September, bring up Iglesias and divide the time up at SS. Ciriaco can clearly be an everyday SS, but if Iglesias does well then they should keep Ciriaco as the 2013 UIF'er and make Iglesias the starting SS for 2013. Much easier to throw in Punto as part of a write off trade over the winter.

Gomez has an .854 fielding % at 3rd in the minors.  It is almost inconceivalbe he'd be able to play 3B in the pros.  I'd take a chance on Velencia.  Probably not a player, but at least he is nomially a 3B.

Pretty much agree on the rest.  One of them should play SS and one be the UIF next year.

Valencia had to do some serious regressing to go from 3rd in ROY to being sent packing...Id rather see PC at short and Aviles at 3b...bring up a starter instead

He sounds like an ***. Took the 3rd baseman out for the bunt to the third baseman when the Indians got up next. Just sayin'.

[QUOTE]Nah, this is the Red Sox. Bring up the Twin retread Valencia instead of Iglesias, even with the season over.  Another dumb roster move.

Had the Sox brought up Iglesias, ADG woulod be complaining that in no way could Iglesias replace Middlebrooks' bat, and they should have at least given Valencia a second chance...
