I haven't watched much hockey since Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito...etc. Those were good days! -

I subscribed to the MLB minor league package which streams many of the Pawsox games but have only watched a few games. I'll have to try to watch Middlebrooks play before the season ends in ten days. Oh wait, then there are playoffs. -

I watched Middlebrooks yesterday at the Futures Games--you can see this kid is going to make it at the Major League level. He's pretty good in the field and, though he struck out a few times, it's only a matter of time before he makes excellent contact. Sure I'd love to see him at third while Youk is out but it may be too much too soon. In another organization he would be playing there every day. -

In Response to Re: Middlebrooks Promoted to Pawtucket:You're pretty good. I'll bet that would have stumped most around here. I was talking to a friend today, an M's fan, who lived in Boston for a few years. We were discussing sports greats. I said I only knew of two that were so immensely talented, they changed their game forever. Babe Ruth was one. Can you guess the other?

How come Bob Cousy's name is never mentioned when we talk about "game altering brilliance."? Teams found out that the only way to stop Cousy was to change the rules of the game... -

Cous doesn't get just praise, I agree. -

Will Middlebrooks is next year's Ryan Lavarnaway. He sure looked good in the futures game. -

He was the Babe Ruth of his time - of his game.
I especially like how he hit the puck in mid-air while almost behind the net.
I like how he put Bernie Parent away.
I like how he made the rest of them look like they were standing still...
Babe Ruth didn't have to retire at age 28. -

Middlebrooks will adjust at AAA like he did at AA..There will be a little learning curve, but this kid looks to have all the tools..Still needs another year at AAA IMO, But could be a possibility for 2013.. -
