MLB admits error on HR call
Major League Baseball acknowledged that umpires muffed the home run call in the Yankees' 5-4 loss to the Royals Wednesday night, but given that Joe Girardi opted not to file a protest, there's nothing that can be done about it. "The game is over and that's what it is," MLB executive VP of baseball operations Joe Torre told the Daily News on Thursday.

But why would you be motivated to start a thread about this. If you are a pure baseball fan then why not start threads about calls that the umpires blew for the other 29 teams? Didn't you stop to think that you may be construed to be a Yankee fan when you posted this? Are you? If so come out of your closet. We won't hate you but many dislike hypocrisy.

Expanded replay is coming.  The umps are making sure of it.  Girardi must be kicking himself for not protesting.

Because it was a major sports headline today, Mr. Yankee Sensitive. Don't you have anything better to do than critique posters? How about starting by critiquing yourself? You should have a field day.

Question for NHSteven. You are out of the closet, is Fireballer a Yankee fan? If so why no comeback to my request?

Oh yeah it would be all about the Yankees paying of umpires with $$$ and bottles of HGH and The Cream and dealing arms overseas to keep this operation going and killing kittens.

We'd be hearing even more about Francona sitting and spitting when he should have been filing a protest.

Just wondering why Fireballer would post this here on a Red Sox forum since he pretends to be a Red Sox fan. Isn't that a legitimate question?  If he is a Yankee fan then I'm am fine with that but why try to con us?

yankees have already notified the umpire union that if they don't see several make-up calls, they can expect a lower contribution to the umpire retirement plan this year.

They might not contribute at all after the umpires stole one from the Yanks last night.

This call had nothing to do with video ... the umps didn't know the rule of the outfield fence.

Looks like fireballer has changed his moniker often. His wayward topics seem to have a distinctive pattern. It does seem completely weird that a Red Sox fan would start a thread that chastises an umpire for blowing a call that costs the Yankees a win. Isn't that obvious to you. Even a caveman would wonder. Is Fireballer mentally challenged?
