cant say im a huge fan of those moves, although melky is slightly intruiging but after what happened last year, not sure i want him on the team. liriano is slightly intruiging as a back end option. drew no thanks, give iglesias a shot, dont waste money on drew.

With the investment already made on Iglesias I'd say it is very unlikely the sox would sign JD's injury plagued brother.

After the public relations nightmare of late (Sep 1st 2011 to now), why would Ben want to bring in a drug cheat?

Why would the Sox want Liriano and his 5.34 ERA, to jump from last to fourth?

Whoever wrote this artcle should concentrate on his customers at Wawa.

Laroche and Jackson seem a little more realistic...I like Laroche on a short term deal. Im on the fence with Jackson though. But much better than Cabrerra, Liriano and Drew...

Hahaha...Steven Drew? I hope they do, itd be worth it just to see the explosion from Andrewmitch. We'd all immediately know where he lives because of the giant mushroom cloud. But I dont want Melky. Never liked him, and like him even less with all the needles floating about. But I'd be happy with the others there.

Breslow will certainly be in the pen opening day, unless traded. Atchison may squeeze in as well. I think we will see someone in the pen dealt this winter, most likely Aceves.

Better to get op of rotation starter and move everyone down a notch to "build organizational depth, but we'll probably have to settle on acquiring a 2/3 slot starter.

    Bullpen;
    Bailey
    Aceves
    Breslow

    Melancon
    Miller
    Bard
    Hill
    Tazawa
Mortenson, Stewart, Carpenter, de la Rosa, Beato, Rosario

We have about 20 ML ready pitchers. Add one or two acquisitions, and it certainly looks like we need to trade some depth for more quality.

    Moon,

We do have a ton of quality bullpen arms in the organization. My guess is that a couple will be wearing a different uniform come opening day? More than likely as part of a package that brings back a player that best fill a need.

From where I sit, I see that need as a quality starter as insurance for Lackey and/or a middle of the order bat to play 1B or LF. If it were mine to do I'd stick with Morales in the rotation. The kid showed promise last year and he along with Lester, Buccholz and Doubront, give us a good starting point. Then if Lackey returns to form, that's a pretty good starting five...Clearly the key is for Farrel to get Lester right short of his return to his former glory, we may well need to break the bank and go hard after a top of the rotation guy...

Trade Ellsbury for Morse (rh hitter 62 RBI's avg. .291 but this the national league one thing that i am skeptical about) to Nats for Morse who can play both LF and 1B. Then go sign Hunter (2 year deal) for outfield experience and let the OF prospects work their way into the big league.

The Cody Ross signing will be no worry for sox if this deal is done.

Then we have spot fill for 1B and LF option and Hunter could play center field to replace Ells.
