Un-freakin-real. It's 11-1 and my son realizes he left his glove on the school playground. It's only about a half-mile from the house, so I head out to look for it. As I'm walking out the door, I see Buchholz throw what looks like strike three to end the inning, but they call it a ball. Eh, so what, I say.

I get home to this. Holy crap.

Middlebrooks is supposed to be an excellent third baseman with a good arm.

I thought Cook could only opt out if the Sox did not add him to the roster. Can he opt out if he is put in the bullpen?  That's what Orsillo seems to be saying. That does not make sense.  Anyone know?

What killed me about the Reddick homerun after seeing the pitch was that Reddick could never hit the high fastball letter high all last year. Why was Clay going low when Reddick loves to golf the ball out. That was surprising pitch calling by Shoppach.

In Response to Re: Monday Night Game Thread: Athletics at Red Sox : Nothing like a ten run lead at home.....RIGHT ?? Have to admit I was somewhat against the Byrd trade when had Lin / Linares etc.. in system already. Now must say it looks brilliant ! Anyone know how much of his salary Boston's on the hook for ? Also it may look better if Jacoby's out for a long time, like Crawford. I do not trust front office's injury info. releases at all. Posted by jimedfred

Loyd saw the pitch just outside the amica zone but too close to take for the batter. Weeks should have been out. Weekslooks all of a 160 pounds, just challenge him and stop messing around. In response to "Re: Monday Night Game Thread: Athletics at Red Sox":

I still say BV stays too long with pitchers... he did the same thing with Clay last time out... its clear he is losing it when he is walking hitters...

I heard that as well, and my understanding of the situation is the same as yours - Orsillo and Gammons making it sound like if he doesn't want a BP role, he can opt out.  I think he just needs to be added to the MLB roster, and his role is up to the team.

He can only opt out if he is not on 25 man roster within 48 hours of may 1. He can't dictate where he pitches. Sox don't coddle their players like that do they? LOL.

BVF is stretching out his pitchers. I  like it. It would be nice to see some CGs out of our rotation in Sept. and Oct.

Here we go. The arson squad is starting up. One good thing is I have Aceves on my fantasy team so he might get a save.
