Jed and the lineup of ells, pedey, papi, jackson, and all were outstanding at the plate..and some even in the field...hats off to Tito, too.

jed's dinger was the turning point, the buck showalter dam breaker

Jed in the first inning was insulted but he looked quite good tonight. What a shame that this thread draws such negativity.

I'm obviously a fanatic, but I'm seeing tiny bits of stuff that are working.  Bard, Morales, Albers, and Atchison have worked okay.  I'm not expecting the latter three to blow batters away, but it would be nice to see them protect a lead once in a while.

If we get Bedard back in good shape, at least we have three PO pitchers.  And we might be able to cobble one together between Aceves and Buchholz.

We're 5-12 over our last 17, but I think we've actually outscored the opposition over the 17 games.  6 of those losses were one-run losses.

I'm not in the happy place I was 3 weeks ago, but we're aren't too much different than the team no one could beat for the previous 4 months.

Okay. Nice win. Need to keep it up. Wild card lead is only one in the loss column.

we did notice though that when jed entered the dugout after his breakout 3-run dinger,  everyone approached him with high fives...but not tito...or maybe jed didn't want a hand from tito, either?

I'm seeing it too joe. I remember the 06 Cardinals and how utterly atrocious they looked in Aug/Sep. They only won 85 games that whole year. Teams like this can turn it around literally overnight and become almost unbeatable. The Red Sox are one of those cyclical type teams. If they happen to get hot at the right moment, they could beat anyone. The trouble is hitting the timing right, and THAT I'm not convinced of yet.

Connor Jackson tonight's MVP. I still say that dive into the stands set the tone for this whole game and team tonight.

Offense finally showing some juice. Hoping it continues. Lackey should get together with Wake and retire.

I'm not sure it will make any difference, but he has to sit down and think to himself that, on a night the RS scored 18 runs, he couldn't get a win.  The dude just has to get flat out mad.  He's got to look around and see 24 guys contributing and celebrating.  I'm not sure there is any way of salvaging his season if this does light a fire.

I'm thinking Tito might've left him just long enough so that Lackey could feel the tinge of embarrassment at not winning tonight.

The definition of the word Lackey: to do ones bidding or hard labor, well his outings sure are a form of hard labor.
