MUSIC TO MY EARS : Lavarnway batting 7th

IT'S about time! with papi out a few days already and youk too, and with bouts of anemic hitting, it should have happened a few days ago at the least.
fins out if he can hit mlb and give yoruself evenry chance you can to improve.
now if we can get any pitching other than bedard (1 run in 5 or 6 innnings i'll take).

In 2005, Kelly Shoppach came up with similar buzz. He went 0-for-15 and the Sox dealt him in the Coco Crisp trade. He has become a serviceable catcher in the big leagues.

we owe it to ourselves to give us every shot at improving the lineup and the hitting. hes sitting right there. its a no brainer. how he does or how we do, we will see. sitting on hands and complaining wont improve the situation.

Should be interesting to see what he can do. He's certainly got more pressure on him because the Nation needs a big contribution right away with Youk and Papi out.

Phil, if he does well tonight, you can bet your last dollar that someone tomorrow will warn you about hyperbole and irrational exuberance. Any expression of emotion is verboten here. The founders of this forum are Calvinists and Presbyterians ( the Frozen Chosen) and to us the hot stove league during the winter is done with a pot belly woodstove, no furnace, bare wooden floors, no insulation, and wooden pews. The water freezes in your glass. That is our way towards salvation. After we won the 2004 WS we all walked out into the snow barefooted and confessed our sins of being self-centered and selfish.

poor kid - no way he can rise to this pressure....it's bad when we are so desperate that we are pinning our hopes on this rookie to stop our slide...

    maybe he will get lucky???

Before Lavarnway can whipe his back side, he'll need to learn by hanging around Jason Varitek. Maybe Varitek can teach him how to drop the ball, have slow runners steal 3rd, and miss the ball by a foot on 3 or 4 pitch plate appearances in August.

With UR vast little league knowledge, perhaps you can tutor him.

Oh, BTW: Lavernway has been cold as ice before his promotion.

Lavarnay should bat 6th. Crawford needs to bat 9th. At the begining of the season people were all willing to bat Elles 9th if he struggled, and with Carl leading off.

I want Carl 9th, followed by the obvious - Elles.

Hopefully the entire time Ortiz is out Lavarnay gets all the DH starts so we can see what he is about.

Lavarnway was 1 for 22 in his last few AAA at bats. This is not the best time to call him up. Hopefully he can turns things around. He didn't look bad in his AB tonight.

That was an excellent movie. James Garner, Katherine Ross, Hal Holbrook, Peter Lawford, Arthur O'Connell, June Allyson a few others who I can't recall but would recognize.

    Great flick.

one of my favorite films, Holbrook was creepier in that movie than he was in All the President's Men
