No Giancarlo Stanton to Red Sox

There is no way with this trade they are going to trade for Stanton. Cespedes is hitting .256 this year. I do not like it at all. Lester is gone no way coming back after this trade. Larry Luchinno has a cheaper alternative for his boss Henry.

no way that marlins will ever trade him.   IF they do, they would probably want boggie, middy, owens, vasquez among other just for him!!

Cepesdes happened to be in plan B.  He is an upgraded hitter over Gomes and Nava as well for any former LF other than Manny.   He is hitting horrible cuz it is hard to hit at the Oakland Coliseum stadium.  Lefty hit better there than righty over there!!

Really. When Cespedes starts blowing the place up you all will be singing a tune. How can u not like this? Now we have 2 canons in the field as well.

BC did the best that he could.    Finally someone to help Papi and add some power that was sorely needed.  Good start to rebuilding and they should not be done yet.

Always Right.....at least in my mind

Problem is you broke the pitching staff with Lester gone to bring in a hitter. How do you like Bucholtz who is mostly inconsistent and no way Lackey is pitching for nothing next year. We get to watch the Triple AAA kids who will struggle like they have this year at the high Fenway Prices.

But Stanton hit .249 last year, and has hit .262 or less 3 times out of 5 years, and he's the Second Coming, right?

Batting average is all that matters...except when it doesn't.

Sox only have control over Cespedes until next season.  His contract with the A's eliminated the arb yrs and he goes straight to FA market if not extended by Sox.  And he can't receive QO either.  If Cespedes tears up in this team, he would likely get extended, if not, Sox will trade him at some point next season.

So you enjoy watching pitchers not getting any run support. Sox could have allstar pitching staff and they can't score runs?

Re: No Giancarlo Stanton to Red Sox

Cespedes has tremendous value in Miami. Wouldn't be surprised to see a trade of Cespedes, Lackey and a PTBNl for Stanton and a DL'd Fernandez or perhaps a top 5 pitching prospect.

Stanton is not out of play-

Cudos to BenC on this deal. We got something more than a prospect and if he does a good job the Sox would extend just as they did Pedroia.

My current batting order would be:

Holt ss, Pedroia 2b,Cespedes lf, Ortiz, Nap 1b, Xander 3 b, Vazquez c, JBJ cf, Betts rf
