    No Guts

This team has no guts....plain and simple! Just because the pitching is woeful why did the bats go in the toilet also? There is not one player that can carry this team through the bad times....and I thought the days of the Red Sox folding in Sept. were days of old.

    It hasn't happened yet.

Although it looks bad, please try to keep some faith.

Aside from the Phillies, other teams have issues too.

Time is still on our side, and we should not start hanging or heads until the fat lady sings.

No one ever said it would be easy....well, a few did, but they were wrong.

It's not about guts or pride but falling behind in every game we play due to poor pitching.  Thats tough on an offense and difficult to overcome, especially when we get a "missed call" on David at a crucial time.

it is discouraging when you are down 2 or 3 runs by the 2nd inning almost every game so the pitching really is the problem, however it would be nice once in a while if SOMEONE WOULD GET A CLUTCH HIT!!!!!

I have always liked Pedey but recently I am tired of his bs. His battings stinks and he should never be allowed to play cleanup.

How about the mistakes McDonald makes in games such as the game this afternoon? That was the start of the losing of this game. Weilland went South after that. Of course, Francona once again is playing him in tonight's lineup.

The sun was too much in LF today to start the game but McDon should have caught the 2nd ball I agree.

Haven't heard a peep out of John Henry but fear not.    He'll offer a statement with an apology next January when the announcement is made that some ticket prices will be hiked for the 2012 season.
Nothing will be said about raising the concession prices.

    Re: No Guts

It is true that the Sox are playing awful, but I honestly would not categorize it as a "choke". The expression "just can't win for losing" comes to mind in describing the last month really. Lots of injuries, major and latent (A-gon?), a lot of lucky hits by the opposition, some bad umpiring (really, that call against Ortiz today, c'mon!), bad timing for mini slumps by key people (Pedey, A-gon), the beat goes on. Sometimes sh*t happens. And oh, yeah, thank goodness for TB and the Pats...

It Was Supposed to be easy !! That's the point. The team was playing .700 ball, like it was supposed to be doing, then it fell apart with nobody, on the team, apparently giving a flying crap !!

Many of the Sox made good contact today. Weiland was not good. Relievers were excellent. Does the claim of "choking" come from your profound disappointment? Did you watch the game or read the box score?

    Re: No Guts

The glaring issue is lack of pitching depth, but we cannot ignore that this team overall has been playing very poorly as of late - not just a typical slump, but many costly errors, mental and physical, as well.

Part of this perhaps is on the FO as well, for not acquiring more pitching depth at the deadline - it's too much to have to count on guys like Miller and Weiland in this situation.  Harden and/or Millwood would probably have come in handy during this stretch.

Regardless, nothing excuses the play of the Red Sox during the month of September.

Look on the bright side, I'm sure they'll reduce ticket prices next year when the RS finish for the second straight year out of the playoffs. Oh wait we need to pay Crawford, Lackey, and Jenks for their great efforts this year
