imo give him one more start before doing anything, i am a bit concerned that his velocity is down and he's throwing a lot of balls down the middle tho.

Yea, that's never a good combination for a pitcher.

His Velocity was much better yesterday....hit 95 a few times on the gun......that said, he needs to be sent down to work on his changeup and location.....the Sox can't afford the losses and strain on the BP, to have him work it out at the Major League level. I know the pickings are slim at Pawtucket, but I can't see Germano or Ohlendorf doing much worse for a few starts than Clay right now and Clay getting killed can't be helping his confidence.....hopefully he rights the ship down there, but hopefully Dice K is ready within the next 2 weeks in any case.

[QUOTE]I think Bucholz is being sent down to the minors but that puts him on waiver right? If other teams claim him he has to be back to the majors roster in order to pull him back from the waivers right?

I would say let someone claim him. He'd due a lot of money in the next few years. No one will take him.

I think the RS should keep him in the rotation for another two or three starts at least. Then he can have the distinction of being the only pitcher in MLB history of giving up 5 or more earned runs in each of his first 8 starts.
Besides, he makes Lackey coming back soon, look pretty good.

Agreed that Buch has to be sat. It's not helping him, and certainly not the team, to watch him go out there pitching batting practice to actual opponants. And to watch him try to pin it on his catcher....speaks volumes to me about the kids character. Guess his love of porn stars should have been a clue...

This the second reference I've seen on the forum to Buchholz blaming Salty.  Can someone point me to an actual report of this, because it's news to me.

He's had character issues since his days in Community College when he was stealing laptops, etc.

I said 2 weeks ago, that he should probably go the pen and do mop-up duty. He's not looked anything like did a year ago. It is what it is. But, Beckett and Lester have not looked like they are getting any better, either.
