I'd love to see the Indians beat out the Rangers.

I can just imagine if Tito's team beats the Sox...

I'd like to see the Rangers and Tribe bump the Rays out of contention.

That joke of a stadium doesn't belong in the post season.

But, with Hughes going up against Price tonight, I'm not hopeful.

    Hats off to Francona!

Take a look at this Cleveland roster and tell me he hasn't got as strange a collection of no name players as in the original movie Major League....he is doing a fine job, which proves that all of us who defended him were right.

And check out the Red Sox castoffs on the Cleveland roster:

    Justin Masterson 14-10 3.52 ERA

Kelly Shoppach - great depth 3rd catcher.

Rich Hill - not impressive so far, but durable , used in 61 games.

Mike Aviles -.257 avg, 44 RBI , 9 HR....small contribution numberswise, but not expected to be a big stick, anyway.

Last but not least...how about Matt Albers!?....3-1 , 3.30 ERA , who would've guessed we should've kept this guy...not me!

    The HOF likely awaits him.

That would make for one of the great media free-for-alls ofr all time.  They are already talking about him almost every night.  If he ever beats the RS this year, they'll put him in the HOF before the playoffs are over.

As much as I would love to see Farrell win the Manager of the Year in the AL.....I really think that Tito should be the guy if they can make in the playoffs.  Heck....most of us had the Sox pegged for 80ish wins.....Imagine what Indian fans had their team pegged at!!??

[/QUOTE] yikes, between them recklessly publicizing his personal stuff in Boston, and this basically relegating the Sox to the cellar during the offseason, some of them will have to have dinner first ....

maybe so King, however, we had the most disasterous season of all time last year and the baseball gods shined down on yawkee way and from the great white north came Johnny Farrell to the rescue. from worst to 1st has my vote for general manager of the year and manager of the year. happy for tito. don't get me wrong. JF totally deserves it. My only hope right now is that we can get the best record and gain home field advantage. that would be the clams in my chowdah bro.

Would love to hear Bosox41 weigh in on this.  Fascinated to learn how the Indians, with medium payroll and a patchwork roster, had this kind of season in spite of Terry Francona.
