Waldman grew up in Newton, MA a RS fan, but then again, I believe YAZ and Castiglione grew up NYY fans. Tewksbury and Tiant pitched in the NYY uniform, but it was only for the check.

Is there a point in there somewhere?

I love the smell of asphalt in the morning.

Not really, beyond the Waldman trashing

    Hey Steven, Happy board anni!!

Thx, I wouldn't have noticed otherwise.

     THE YANKEES CAN DO "ONLYTHIS!"

WFAN this AM thought it was a riot. Maybe somebody can find the audio.

Only the Yankees can retire a player that has only been with their organization?! And people thought she got the job on her looksTongue Out

Maybe she meant only the Yankees can retire Mariano Rivera?

Which would make perfect sense. Wink

as for SW...what was her other infamous over the top gush.  something to do with clemens, yes?  she is annoying but not nearly as much as john sterling...

Yup, she about had an "O" in the booth.

    And, to save us both some time;

"I fail to see the difference between that and Joe C's HR calls"

    I know.

    We disagree.

i never heard another broadcaster lampooned more on sports radio then SW & JS.  morning guys kill SW and mike & russo used to crucify John.  not sure if mike still does as i cannot take him anymore and his constant laryngitis without maddog.

One can only speculate they intentionally hired the worst possible radio broadcasters in an effort to force people to add YES to their cable line packages.........

Never thought about it that way before; of course you then have to deal with the YES announcers; except Cone seems to be OK

Zac my issue with it is, she routinely makes statements, such as this.   only the yankees can do this,  implies setting the Yankee orginization above and apart,  from all the others, as if no one could ever come close to doing anything as well as the Yankees. It comes off as arrogance and elitist, IMO.

The yankees elitists?  Why?  I am not sure they have anything that any team wants other than their TV subscriptions........

Good announcers let the moment do the talking.

The others feel they have to sell it.

SW voice is annoying.  the sound of it causes dogs to howl, matches to sponaneously combust, water to stop boiling, and recovering addicts to fall off the wagon.

Disagree, and homerish, as usual; Castiglione sounds like he's talking thru a screeching pipe; wihile JS has a mellow baritone; however, it's his content I don't like, so his vocal quality doesn't matter IMO.

Complimenting a ceremony, and implying no one can do it as well, is something else. It's not just talk of ceremonies, Zac, it's in general.  I agree, the fact she's a woman,  stands out from the others. I get she's more emotionaly invested, but she doesn't try to curb her enthusiasm. That's why her male counterparts take aim at her, when she's over the top
