No, not just because of today; or even the injuries. It's the little things that is done during a choke, like Girardi's atrocious decision to let Hughes pitch to Reynolds the 2nd time without even a mound visit yesterday, or Cano's 2 bonehead plays today.
At this point, I would be surprised if they made the playoffs -

At this point, I would be surprised if they made the plaoffs. The O's and Rays winning today makes that certainly possible. A's winning against LA would really put pressure on NYY. Jeter failed to get a a ball between SS and 3B shows their weakness. The string of injuries they have had certainlty hurts, however I shed no tears for them. -

It's the little things. Today they lost 4-3, and Cano had a couple of boneheaded plays. Didn't bust it out of the box and got tagged out at first. Would'be been safe if he hustled out of the box. In the bottom of the 8th with a man on second, he didn't make a play to stop a ball getting into the shallow outfield. That's a play Pedey makes every time, if even just to keep the run from scoring. Cano tried to stab at the ball instead of making an even remotely athletic play on the ball. Jeter looked miffed.
Baltimore looks totally hungry. They're playing great ball. Three-hitter today in Toronto using 3 pitchers. -

I still believe that Baltimore is a very lucky team since they have won so many one run games. They are definitely a good team this season, but have had a large percentage of lucky wins. -

Cano is a talented player but he is also a knucklehead. I saw the base hit that he should have dived for, then when he realized what he didn't do , he tried to make like he was hurt. He was always a bit of an idiot especially when Melky Cabrera was with the team and their antics off the field. That is why I thought that the Yankees got rid of him. Now I am thinking that they might have gotten rid of him for something that he might have been taking as well.

Is he this talented on anotherbteam besides the Yankees? He does do some dumb things. The Yankees are going to have some tough decisions to make next year with their high payroll and two free agents in Granderson and Cano.

Steve,
Since the wind isn't in the Sox sails anymore, there isn't enough to keep the rivalry edge going on NYC....
Ha!
Not wind in sails ... holes in the bulkhead ....

Yeah, but we have to win sooner or later. Plus we have 6 each against both TB and BA. It'd be a shame if we lost the rest of our games to TB, like someone else once did. -

Just pathetic play on everyone's part. Injuries are just part of the game. Boston had their's, we have ours. Let's see if NY can do a better job of keeping their composure under pressure. This all remains to be seen.
